Classes

Classes meet 45 minutes per week. The cost is $8 per class. Holidays generally follow school schedules. Cancellations will be announced on WJNR and WMIQ, or you may call the Studio at (906) 774-5333 for a recorded announcement. If you are traveling from outside of the surrounding area, please use your own discretion.

Payment

You may pay by the month or by the semester. Monthly payments are due the first week of each month. We accept cash, check, credit card (VISA or MASTERCARD), and also offer AUTO PAY, a hassle free payment method that automatically deducts the monthly payment from your checking or savings account the first week of each month.

Dance Attire

Students must be able to move freely and proper body alignment must be able to be observed by the instructor at all times. Acceptable dance attire includes: proper shoes (tap or jazz, black will be needed for recital), leotards, tights, unitards, biketards, sweater wraps, or ballet skirt. T-shirts and shorts are acceptable if tucked in and body alignment can be observed. Jeans, jean shorts, or sweatshirts are not acceptable. THIS POLICY WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!

Shoes

I personally fit students for shoes the first week of class. I generally fit shoes 1/2 to 1 full size larger so the student will be able to wear the shoes throughout the entire dance season. Although I advise that you purchase shoes through the Studio, it is not mandatory. Any shoes purchased through the Studio must be paid for at time of ordering.

Class Observation

Parents may observe their child's class at least once per year. This is a normal class and the standard fee will be applied. The date(s) will be announced and included on the Studio Calendar of Events. Observing class at any other time is prohibited.

Costumes

We will be selecting recital costumes in late November/December. We do so at this time to ensure costumes are received by recital time. We will meet during regularly scheduled class times. This day is considered part of the normal dance curriculum and the standard class fee will apply. A separate costume will be required for each class or number your child is in. All students will be in a finale, which requires a separate costume. Costumes typically cost between $45 and $58. You have my assurance to keep costume costs as low as possible. We offer complimentary costume alterations to get the best possible fit while saving you time and money.

Pictures

Pictures will be taken a few weeks before the recital. The date and time will be announced and included in the Studio Calendar of Events. Pictures are optional.

Perfect Attendance

If a child attends every class, he or she will receive a perfect attendance award.

Withdrawal

Any intention to withdraw from class must be provided by the fifteenth of the last month of lessons. If a student withdraws after the 15th of the month, fees for the following month will be applied and due in full. Charges will not be prorated if the child chooses not to attend any lesson after the withdrawal notification is received.

Class Books

Each student will receive a dance book at the beginning of the dance year. You must bring the book to all classes. The book is updated each week with lessons and payment acknowledgement.
